FBI returns to Idaho home where Bryan Kohberger allegedly murdered four college students

The FBI returned to the Moscow, Idaho home on Tuesday where four college students were allegedly killed by Bryan Kohberger in November 2022. University of Idaho students Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Ethan Chapin were killed at the Moscow, Idaho home on Nov. 13, 2022, when Kohberger allegedly entered the home at around 4 a.m. Kohberger’s trial was initially scheduled for October, but the murder suspect waived his right to a speedy trial during an August court hearing, significantly delaying a trial. The University of Idaho said in a Tuesday statement that the prosecution and investigators asked the college for access to the King Road house where the murders took place, since Kohberger’s trial is "delayed indefinitely." Mother of Nashville-area man killed by police sues

A woman has sued a Tennessee police department after her son was shot and killed when he tried to drive away from a traffic stop with an officer leaning into the car. Linda Allen, whose son Eric Allen, 39, died in the November 2022 interaction with Mt. Juliet Police, filed the lawsuit Monday against the chief of police, two officers and the city. Body camera footage shows that when the officer asked Allen to step out of the car, he moved from the passenger side into the driver's seat and began to drive off while the officer was leaning inside the car. As the car drove away, the passenger door closed with the officer inside, shouting at Allen repeatedly to stop the car. He then fired his stun gun and said he would shoot Allen, before firing his handgun three times at him. Mississippi AG's office rules 3 police shootings were justified

Three separate police shootings in Mississippi in 2022 were justified, the state Attorney General's Office said Tuesday. In one episode, a woman was hit by a stray police bullet while lying in bed. In another, a woman was shot and killed inside a Walmart after taking an employee hostage. The third involved a George County Sheriff’s Office deputy in east Mississippi, but authorities have revealed little else about that case. "In all three incidents, the Attorney General’s Office found the use of force was justified," the office said in a statement Tuesday. Heavily armed man with guns, ammo and explosives found dead inside popular Colorado amusement park

A heavily armed man who appeared to be planning to shoot up a mountain top amusement park at Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park in Colorado , killed himself before carrying out his plan, according to authorities. The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office said park officials found the 20-year-old man dead inside the park on Saturday morning before opening to the public. Authorities said the man apparently broke into the park while it was closed, adding he was armed with an AR-style rifle, a handgun and explosives. Three family members of a Florida man who was found murdered in July 2021 were arrested last week in connection to the homicide investigation, authorities said. The Dixie County Sheriff’s Office said David Rainey’s wife, Cindy Rainey, reported him missing on the morning of July 25, 2021. Safety concerns are being raised about a medical center in California after a nurse was recently pinned between an MRI machine and a bed during a freak accident, an investigation by KTVU uncovered. A Michigan man was found inside his car tied up and injured on Wednesday after he was kidnapped in the parking lot of a Lifetime Fitness. A murder warrant has been issued for the Massachusetts man who's accused of killing his wife on Sunday. Breanne "Breezy" Pennington, 30, was found dead inside the couple's Gardner, Massachusetts home on Sunday. Atlanta temporarily closes 3 fire stations over truck breakdowns, firefighter shortages

The city of Atlanta has temporarily closed three of its more than 30 fire stations because of truck breakdowns and a shortage of firefighters. Smith told the committee that the department had 17 fire trucks out of service on Monday, including eight of 31 fire engines and nine of 15 ladder trucks. Hunt for Georgia jail inmate escapees leads to violent confrontation with kidnapped murder suspect: Police

The massive manhunt for four Georgia inmate escapees led armed law enforcement teams to the doorstep of a murder suspect, who vanished after he appeared to be kidnapped seven months ago. U.S. Marshals were " met by gunfire " through a closed apartment door, and backed up by SWAT teams who blasted through the entrance, the Bibb County Sheriff's Office said Monday evening. They found a man – later identified as Christian Williams, 23 – "down from a self-inflicted gunshot wound," the sheriff's office said.  This is the first time anyone has seen Williams since he was reportedly abducted on March 6 just hours before he was due in court for 2021 murder charges .
